Saraguro is located between Cuenca and Loja. In Saraguro you will discover one of the most important indigenous centers of Ecuador. The native Saraguros still maintain their native roots through the Quichua language , traditional dress code, local construction and gastronomy.
Saraguro is a great place to learn more about the culture and natural environment of the Southern Andean Region. The community has organised itself and is welcoming tourists. There are some amazing places to visit in the area. Have a look at the waterfalls near Saraguro, just an hour hike away. How to get to Saraguro
From Cuenca take a bus to Loja, they leave the Cuenca main busterminal regularly. Busses pass through the town of Saraguro. From Loja take any bus to Cuenca or Saraguro to get to Saraguro. Busses leave from the main busterminal in Loja. From Cuenca $2,50 - 2,5 hours From Loja $1,75 - 2 hours.
